How to check your spirit level

It takes only a little while to check your spirit level. The spirit level should be checked if it has been shaken or otherwise chipped. In particular when you have bought a new spirit level, it’s usable to check it. One way to check your spirit level is underneath the picture. To cut across is not to put wood screws and to set the spirit level on a plane which is quite even (it doesn’t have to be absolutely even). If the spirit level shows exactly the same result when it’s turned upside down it measures right.

1. Screw two wood screws on a steady plane. The ends of the spirit level should rest on the plane surfaces of the screws.
2. Adjust screws up and down. The spirit level should measure an even plane.
3. Turn the spirit level 180 degrees, the bubble should be in the middle. Any inaccuracy from the middle is double the inaccuracy of the spirit level.
4. To check the vertical vial hold the spirit level on a vertical surface and study the position of the bubble in the vial. Turn the spirit level and measure it again. The bubble should be on the same place again.
